A charming 32-piece vintage dinnerware service for eight from Alfred Meakin’s celebrated “Birds of America” collection. Made in England, each piece features a beautifully rendered bird-and-botanical illustration reproduced from John James Audubon’s elephant-folio edition of Birds of America and endorsed by the National Audubon Society.
The softly scalloped ivory-colored dinnerware is finished with an embossed floral and foliage border. Assorted bird subjects give each place setting its own distinctive character, making the service especially appealing for collectors, bird lovers, or a beautifully layered country table.
The 32-piece service includes:
* Eight 11-inch dinner plates
* Eight 9-inch luncheon plates
* Eight cups measuring 2.5 inches high × 4 inches diameter
* Eight saucers measuring 5.5 inches diameter
Marked on the reverse “Alfred Meakin England,” with the individual Audubon plate number and bird identification.
