This listing is for a Vintage Duncan & Miller pressed glass handled dish in the classic Sandwich pattern, featuring a heart-shaped form, loop handle, scalloped rim, stippled ground, and ornate scroll and star motifs. The rich, irradiated purple glass highlights the detailed molded pattern beautifully.
This form is traditionally referred to by collectors as a handled nappy and was intended as a small serving dish for sweets, nuts, olives, relishes, and similar table accompaniments. Today it also works beautifully as a candy dish, trinket dish, vanity dish, or decorative accent.
