This vintage Italian black porcelain shell box combines sculptural form with practical function. Crafted in porcelain with a finely modeled shell motif, the piece features raised naturalistic ridges, delicate gilded edges, and an original finish with a softly aged patina. The fitted lid rests neatly on the base, making it suitable for jewelry, keepsakes, or simply as a decorative accent on a coffee table, console, or dressing table. Its black-and-gold palette brings an elegant Italian decorative note to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Measuring 5.75 inches wide by 5.25 inches deep by 2.25 inches high, this compact lidded box is substantial enough to make a statement while remaining easy to place. The porcelain is in very good vintage condition, with minor surface scuffs and subtle finish variation consistent with age and careful handling. The piece is structurally sound, and the small imperfections add authentic character to its refined shell form.
