This ornate decorative cage is richly detailed in a lively palette of pink, raspberry, burgundy, soft yellow, ivory, and hand-painted floral decoration, with black metal cage bars and a beautifully modeled openwork porcelain canopy.

The piece retains its original floral porcelain tray, original metal cage structure, and original yellow bird, making it an especially charming and complete display piece. The generously scaled scalloped tray is decorated with a central bouquet of roses, tulips, and wildflowers, surrounded by smaller floral sprigs and a vibrant Rococo scrollwork border. The bird cage itself is finished with elaborate molded acanthus-like ornament, swags, scrolls, and floral accents.

The base is marked “France” and with a red VP monogram associated with Veuve Perrin of Marseille; offered as Veuve Perrin style/attributed, pending independent authentication.

A vintage faceted crystal finial has been added to the lid, lending an elegant jewel-like detail and completing the silhouette.

At 20 inches tall, this is a substantial statement piece with exceptional decorative presence.
