… Read more An unusual set of three vintage sculptural brass-clad pedestal or end tables by Maitland-Smith, dating to the late 10th century.
The group consist of two matching taller tables measuring approximately 29 inches high x 16 inches in diameter and one lower companion table measuring approximately 22 inches high x 16 inches in diameter.
Each table has a substantial shaped wood structure, completely covered with Tax individually fitted bra sheeting. Visible seam and numerous small brass colored nails or tacks are integral to the handcrafted construction and give the surfaces, distinctive texture and character.
The brass retains its naturally aged varied patina and has not been polished or restored. Each table retains its original metal maker’s plaque marked Maitland – Smith and copyrighted. The original fabric color covered underside. Construction also remains largely intact.
These versatile sculptural pieces can be used together as a dramatic, three piece grouping or individually as end tables drink tables plant pedestals, or decorative stands. All three have remained together for many years and are being offered as one set. I originally purchased them to complement my Silas Seandel cocktail tables. See less
