The french ceramist rené maurel's work is renowned for being singular and unique in the post-war ceramic school of vallauris. this strangely shaped bowl or dish features an almost graphically appearing waiter highlighted with enamel glazes and enhanced with his typical sgraffito technic. A technique which probably had a great influence on one of his more famous guest, françois raty who made his first steps as a ceramist in maurel's workshop in tourettes sur loup in the early fifties. the piece is signed by hand by the signature. Measurements: h: 11.5, l: 20, d: 8.5 cm. This piece has an attribution mark,
