Direct from southern England, a striking vintage metal jardinière, featuring a collection of detailed birds in decoupage against a deep black lacquered background.

This jardinière is part of a small group of similarly decorated pieces we have acquired, recently hand-decorated by skilled artists in England, demonstrating superb craftsmanship using traditional hand-applied decoupage techniques.

The tall narrow planter/urn body is decorated on all sides with beautifully detailed decoupage bird images, including a striking green parrot surrounded by colorful songbirds and other exotic birds, all with intricate plumage, markings and rich natural coloration. With its generous height, the jardinière is also ideally suited for use as a distinctive umbrella stand.

An elegant gilt border frames the top and base, providing a striking contrast against the black lacquered finish, while small ring handles accent the sides.
