Originally manufactured in Japan during the 1980s, these highly collectible ceramic pieces are beautifully sculpted to honor the classic charm of Victorian-era English mantel dogs. Each figurine portrays a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel featuring rich russet or orange-spotted markings, detailed with a hand-painted gold-gilt locking collar and chain. The dogs sit regally upon a brilliant cobalt blue pillow-style base accented with bright gold corners and trim. To provide functionality as true bookends, these heavy pieces are weighted internally to comfortably secure your favorite hardcovers or decorative books. They boast a high-gloss glazed finish intentionally detailed with beautiful faux crazing throughout to authentically evoke the aged look of 19th-century antiques. A perfect finishing touch for traditional, Grandmillennial, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic interior design styles. I love everything about these bookends. See less
