Each chair features a generously proportioned upholstered cartouche-shaped back, gently rounded across the crest and narrowing subtly toward the lower portion. The exposed molded wooden framework follows the back in a continuous series of flowing curves, with a small carved foliate flourish centered along the crest rail. The warm brown finish reveals attractive variations in the wood grain and has developed a pleasing patina consistent with age and use.

The open arms are particularly graceful, sweeping outward from the back before terminating in curved handrests fitted with padded upholstered armrests.
