Originally the headboard and footboard from a double bed, this piece has been cleverly repurposed into a one-of-a-kind bench. Crafted in the Jacobean Revival style, it features book-matched burl walnut panels, a carved diamond fretwork medallion with fleur-de-lis accents, turned baluster drop pulls, and gadrooned/dentil molding along the top and base. The tall paneled back gives it real presence — equally at home as an entry bench, bedroom seat, or piano bench. The seat lifts to reveal storage space inside, making it as functional as it is decorative. Loose tufted cushion in a soft butter-yellow fabric included. A wonderful statement piece with the rich patina and quality construction Berkey & Gay is known for.
