An imposing and evocative sculptural mantel clock in burnished metal, attributed to an eclectic workshop from the late 19th century.
Subject and Style: A powerful sculptural figure surmounted by a winged mythological creature (dragon/chimera) on a solid architectural base adorned with scrolls and acanthus leaves; Arabic numeral dial with ornate hands and an opening brass and glass window.
Material and Finish: Cast antimony with an evocative original dark patina, enhanced by the contrast with the gilded brass bezel of the dial.
