Meticulously hand-forged, it features a heavy, substantial weight and a solid copper base lined with a traditional tin wash that has oxidized over generations into a rich, dark charcoal-grey patina. The wide, flanged rim is detailed with an intricate, hand-chased repoussé pattern of alternating flowers and stylized leaves. Flipped over, the reverse side showcases beautiful, visible concentric hammer marks—a testament to its authentic artisan origins. True to regional guild-crafted work of this era, the piece bears no maker's mark. Versatile in placement, this sculptural folk art piece works beautifully as a tabletop centerpiece, a vanity tray, or styled on an entryway console. See less

It is unmarked, which is characteristic of authentic hand-forged folk art from this period. The metal has been left entirely unpolished to preserve its gorgeous, authentic historic tarnish and stable aged patina, with subtle hints of the warm copper base peeking through high-friction areas. We are happy to provide more information and detailed photos upon request. less
