Here is a set of four vintage mercury glass coasters featuring recessed classical warrior profiles. Each round coaster is molded with a helmeted Roman-esque figure in profile, surrounded by a raised concentric rim and finished in a highly reflective silvered surface.
The combination of the mirrored mercury glass and sculptural relief gives the set a wonderful Neoclassical quality. Substantial in both scale and depth, they work beautifully as functional coasters while also reading as small decorative objects when stacked or displayed together. Their shallow, dish-like form also makes them lovely for use as small trinket or jewelry dishes.
