A handsome pair of large vintage oval serving platters in Wedgwood’s discontinued Quince pattern, made in England as part of the company’s Oven-to-Table collection.
Each substantial stoneware platter features Quince’s distinctive speckled cream ground bordered by an abundant fruit and botanical motif in muted pear green, ochre, russet and warm red. The softly raised rim and generous oval proportions make these especially useful serving pieces while retaining the relaxed English country character for which the pattern is loved.
The matching pair is particularly appealing for entertaining, providing two generously scaled platters for serving meats, vegetables or composed dishes. They also display beautifully on an open hutch or layered with other vintage English ceramics.
Both are marked on the underside Quince / Wedgwood / Made in England / Oven to Table.
