We purchased the Swedish … Read more Elegant Swedish Mora longcase clock featuring a distinctive sculptural silhouette, cream-painted case, and decorative gilt accents. We purchased the Swedish clock while living in Europe from 2018 until 2021.

This authentic Swedish Mora clock has the tall, graceful proportions characteristic of traditional Swedish longcase clocks. The cream-painted case is accented with gilt decorative elements throughout, including the crown, upper molding, scroll details, and lower molding.

The original clock case has been restored while retaining its distinctive form and decorative character. The clock mechanism has been updated and was serviced approximately three years ago. The clock is currently functioning and features a traditional mechanical movement with pendulum, two weights, and bell chime.

The case exhibits minor surface wear and imperfections consistent with age, use, and restoration. The finish has an attractive collected appearance rather than a newly manufactured look.

Please note: the clock mechanism has been updated from its original movement. The case is the principal vintage component of this piece.

With its nearly 6½-foot height and relatively narrow 20½-inch footprint, this clock makes a striking architectural statement while remaining suitable for spaces where a wider longcase clock may not work. See less
