A striking Theodore Alexander armchair inspired by classical Regency and Empire design, featuring a richly finished mahogany-toned frame with subtle gilt detailing and beautifully carved lion-head arm terminals.
The sculptural arms sweep gracefully from the chair back before terminating in wonderfully detailed carved lion heads and paw-form supports—a dramatic design element that gives the chair tremendous presence. Additional details include turned and gilt-accented front legs, gently sabered rear legs, a scroll-form crest, decorative figured wood panel, and an upholstered backrest.
Beneath the removable seat cushion is a traditional woven cane seat, allowing the chair to retain an attractive appearance even when the cushion is removed.
The chair retains its original Theodore Alexander brass maker’s plaque.
An excellent statement chair for a library, study, living room, bedroom or entry, and particularly well suited to Regency, Empire, Neoclassical, traditional or eclectic interiors.

Wear is particularly noticeable along portions of the arms, legs and frame edges. The existing upholstery shows age and use and may eventually benefit from replacement depending upon the buyer’s preference. The removable seat cushion is secured with ties. The woven cane seat beneath the cushion appears to be in good usable condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the condition description.
