This stunning statement piece is beautifully crafted with exceptionally highly figured birdseye veneer that exhibits incredible natural chatoyancy, depth, and a radiant golden-honey glow.The dresser features a striking, deeply sculpted serpentine front across the entire case layout. It offers ample boudoir storage with a two-over-one drawer configuration: two smaller upper glove drawers resting above a full-width, sweeping lower drawer. The drawer fronts showcase magnificent, tightly patterned birdseye figuring flanked by beautifully contoured lines. All drawers are cleanly constructed with traditional dovetail joinery and are accented by elegant, turned wooden knobs. Each drawer retaining its original brass key escutcheon adds a touch of authentic historical character. Crowning the chest is a grand, adjustable oval beveled glass mirror. The mirror tilts smoothly and is framed by dramatic, open-scrolled wooden harp brackets featuring exquisite fluid art nouveau styling at the base. This piece was refinished in order to bring out the shimmering shape shifting chatoyance that unrestored Birdseye lacks. The light raking across the top and drawers has almost a 3 dimensional affect. See less
