The … Read more A wonderfully character-filled antique scorched bamboo side table featuring a square wood top, lower shelf and splayed bamboo legs. The bamboo retains beautiful variation throughout, from warm honey tones to the darker scorched detailing at the nodes.

The table has been carefully restored and refinished while preserving the imperfections and evidence of its long life. During restoration, remnants of an earlier red-painted finish were uncovered beneath portions of the bamboo. Rather than completely removing them, subtle traces were intentionally retained and can still be seen along several edges and joints—a quirky bit of its history that we ended up loving.

The wood top and lower shelf have been refinished, retaining their natural grain, age and variation. A great little antique table with plenty of personality that works beautifully as a side table, drinks table or occasional table.
