A beautiful piece reminiscent of cabinets of curiosities and interiors that inspire wanderlust… This footed bowl in patinated gilt brass captivates at first glance with its delicately openwork rim of tiny cut-out hearts, both light and precious. Its turned pedestal gives it an elegant, perfectly balanced silhouette. At the bottom of the bowl, the magic unfolds: a hand-painted enamel medallion, in the early 20th-century Indian style, depicts two graceful birds—cranes or pheasants—in a poetic Asian landscape, against a warm, reddish-orange background characteristic of this style.
The bowl is vintage, dating from the 1970s. It is in good overall condition, with a natural patina on the metal and slight wear to the medallion.
