Elegant late 19th-century Chippendale Revival wingback easy chair, crafted in richly figured mahogany and distinguished by its graceful serpentine form and finely carved decorative details. The chair features a generously proportioned, high winged back with gently curved upholstered arms, a deeply comfortable seat, and a button-tufted back.
The exposed mahogany frame is particularly attractive, with a shaped seat rail and ornately carved acanthus-leaf knees flowing into elegant cabriole legs. The legs terminate in brass-mounted casters, adding both refinement and functionality. The carved arm terminals and continuous exposed mahogany edging further emphasize the craftsmanship and traditional Chippendale vocabulary.
The chair is upholstered in a soft blue fabric, complemented by contrasting decorative gimp trim that follows the contours of the frame and accentuates its sculptural silhouette. The upholstery is a later covering and presents the chair in an exceptionally decorative, ready-to-place condition.

The carved details remain well defined, with some expected wear to the carving and feet. The blue upholstery appears to be a later reupholstery and is generally clean and presentable, with light surface wear and minor marks consistent with use. Decorative gimp trim remains intact overall, with some localized fraying or separation. less
