1960's Goldette glass intaglio pendant necklace in a Victorian revival style. The amethyst glass intaglio is set in an ornate 'Russian gold' filigree that has an antiqued appearance. The glass is etched with an image of mythological figures, Diana and Cupid. The pendant suspends a dangling drop with faceted amethyst glass crystals which are also repeated in the scroll shaped chain. The chain is outfitted with a safety ring closure. It is unsigned though a well documented Goldette design. Goldette was an American costume jewelry company founded in New York by Ben Gartner in the mid-1950's. They specialized in intricate designs that replicated heirloom jewelry often with a Victorian or Art Nouveau aesthetic.
Good condition. There is a slight bend in the gold tone metal at the pendant as shown in photograph 6.
The pendant measures 4.25" tall x 2.5" wide x approximately .25" deep. The chain measures 24" long from end to end.
