An elegant vintage brass picture frame with an unusual ivory-colored finish and warm gold detailing. The wide border is richly embossed with a repeating botanical motif of scrolling leaves, flowers and berries, picked out in gold against the softly mottled ivory ground.
The decoration has a wonderful Neoclassical / Hollywood Regency character, recalling the ornate gilt accessories found in sophisticated midcentury interiors. Particularly lovely are the corners, where the continuous botanical border overlaps to create a more dimensional foliate flourish. The frame's sides are decorated as well, with additional repeating classical leaf borders—a detail that gives it a much more finished and substantial appearance than a typical tabletop frame.
The back is covered in deep burgundy velvet and fitted with both a folding easel stand and hanging loop, allowing the frame to be displayed vertically on a tabletop or hung on a wall.
The restrained ivory and gold palette makes this especially versatile: beautiful on a bedside table, vanity, writing desk, library shelf or as part of a collected gallery arrangement. It would work particularly well in Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical, traditional, Grandmillennial or French-inspired interiors.
