An exceptional mid-century modern sculptural statement piece, this vintage Howard Miller Model 677 floor clock showcases iconic 1970s space-age styling.
The clock features a beautifully contoured, capsule-shaped smoked acrylic/lucite body mounted securely on a solid walnut base. Inside, a brilliant full-length mirrored back panel creates an elegant illusion of infinite depth, perfectly amplifying the visual impact of its two heavy, minimalist cast-iron cylinder weights.
The heart of the clock houses a premium, weight-driven German movement (No. 145 Hour and Half-Hour Strike train), which unjammed smoothly and operates rhythmically under weight tension. Designed with minimalistic geometric flair, the brushed metal dial plate retains its bold Roman numeral layout.
Please note that this vintage piece is being offered "As-Is" and is currently missing its minute hand (the white hour hand is fully intact) and the down-hang pendulum rod and bob assembly.
Perfect for interior designers, collectors, or mid-century modern enthusiasts looking to add an architectural, avant-garde centerpiece to a contemporary space.

The prominent smoked lucite capsule case is structurally sound, clear, and completely free of any cracks, major fractures, or deep gouges. The interior mirrored backplate is beautifully preserved with excellent reflectivity. The German mechanical movement is clean and actively operational, running and advancing smoothly under weight tension. Missing Elements: Please note this piece is being offered "As-Is" and is currently missing its minute hand (hour hand is intact) and the down-hang pendulum rod/bob assembly. These parts can be readily sourced or replaced by a horologist, though the clock functions beautifully as a striking decorative sculpture in its current state. less
