The hand-decorated design centers on a large pink peony surrounded by overlapping leaves in soft mint, pale blue, lavender-blue and pink, with smaller floral accents throughout. Gold-toned outlining adds dimension to several of the leaves. The combination of pastel enamels and dark linear detailing gives the piece an especially decorative, collected quality.

The porcelain insert is encased within a wide metal surround that continues around the underside, giving the bowl considerable weight and presence. The base retains an original “Made in China” foil label along with a red circular maker/export mark.

An attractive addition to a chinoiserie, traditional or eclectic interior, whether displayed on a coffee table, console, dining table or bookshelf.

Condition:
