Each figurine of a young woman milking the cow. Circa 1870. Painter's mark underneath each. Great example of the versatility of the delft craftsmanship. Colorful instead of blue and white. Delftware of this type was very sought out after by the working classes. You will find examples of this type in museums.
The use of marl, a type of clay rich in calcium compounds, allowed the Dutch potters to refine their technique and to make finer items. The usual clay body of Delftware was a blend of three clays, one local, one from Tournai and one from the Rhineland
