Antique 19th C Black Marble Mantel Clock Blue Dial Open Escapement 16”
Description
Striking antique late 19th-century architectural mantel clock, constructed primarily of black marble/stone with contrasting highly veined marble or alabaster panels and finely engraved floral and scroll decoration highlighted in gold and copper tones.
The clock has an especially attractive cobalt-blue chapter ring with gilt Roman numerals, surrounding an exposed/open escapement mechanism. The dial is protected by a hinged glazed brass bezel. The substantial architectural case features an arched and pedimented top, fluted contrasting stone columns, stepped base, and decorative engraved ornament throughout. A circular decorative brass panel is fitted to the rear of the case.
The rear door opens to reveal the brass mechanical movement and coiled gong.

12 inches wide × 7 inches deep × 16 inches high.
