A long rectangular profile composed of closely spaced walnut slats joined across supporting dowels. The open slatted construction creates a strong linear pattern across the entire top. The walnut frame rests on four tapered cylindrical legs accented by brass sabots at the feet. The restrained form, low profile, exposed joinery, and brass details reflect the modernist furniture vocabulary associated with the 1950s and 1960s. The wood displays natural tonal variation throughout. Visible signs of age include surface scratches, scuffs, abrasions, fading, and areas of wear along the slats and perimeter frame.
