The chair has a particularly strong architectural construction. Its angular A-frame legs continue upward to support the long, slightly projecting armrests, creating a dynamic and highly recognizable silhouette. The open framework gives the chair a light appearance while retaining a robust and functional construction. Both the seat and backrest are entirely handwoven with wide yellow webbing straps in an attractive geometric pattern. The warm mustard-yellow tone creates a bold graphic contrast against the black lacquered wooden frame. The low seat, generously inclined backrest and open arm construction give the chair the relaxed proportions characteristic of post-war European modernist furniture. The design reflects the experimental approach to exposed webbing and simplified wooden structures seen in European and American modernist furniture of the 1940s and 1950s. Designers including Jens Risom and Klaus Grabe explored comparable combinations of wooden frames and visible webbing during this period, although we have not found sufficient documentation to attribute this particular chair to a specific designer. The black lacquer has developed an attractive authentic patina, with localized wear revealing the natural wood underneath, particularly around the feet, edges and armrests. We deliberately preserved these traces of age rather than refinishing the frame, as they form an important part of the chair's vintage character. A highly decorative and unusual lounge chair with a strong graphic presence, suitable as an accent chair, fireside chair or statement piece in both contemporary and vintage interiors. The chair retains a beautiful age-related patina. The black lacquered wooden frame shows scratches, small losses to the finish, edge wear and other traces consistent with age and use. The woven yellow webbing remains in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. The chair is structurally sound and ready for use. The existing wear has deliberately been preserved to maintain the authentic vintage appearance of the piece.
