The shade has a graceful … Read more In excellent condition, a beautifully crafted antique Tiffany-style table lamp shade (shade only, needs wiring). The shade has a graceful architectural silhouette—gently rounded at the crown before sweeping outward into a wide, shallow bell-like dome. The intricate leaded-glass composition is formed from numerous individually fitted pieces of opalescent slag and stained glass. Soft ivory and pale blush panels dominate the upper portion, arranged in repeating scalloped and geometric motifs and accented by bands of moss and olive green, warm amber, golden yellow and subtle touches of red. A distinctive border of deep amber glass encircles the lower rim, beautifully defining the shade's broad silhouette. When illuminated, the varied glass becomes especially luminous, revealing delicate striations, mottling and subtle variations characteristic of traditional art glass. Both decorative and highly atmospheric, this lamp shade would be particularly striking in a library, study, traditional American interior, Arts and Crafts setting, or alongside Mission and Prairie School furnishings.
