The back is built around … Read more An American T back side chair in solid hardwood, made in the early twentieth century. The back is built around a single broad splat with the shaped T profile that gives the form its name, set between turned stiles, and the chair sits on square tapered legs joined by stretchers. The finish has mellowed to a warm mid brown with the grain showing clearly through.

It measures 19.5 inches wide by 17 inches deep by 38 inches high and weighs about 13 pounds.

Condition is original and unaltered. There is honest wear across the seat and the tops of the stiles, light scuffing to the legs, and small marks and losses to the finish throughout, all consistent with a chair of this age that has been used. Structurally sound and ready to sit on.
