A spectacular complete 30-plate celestial gallery wall from Asa Smith’s landmark Illustrated Astronomy, published in 1848. Individually framed in black with dark textured mats, the nearly monochromatic astronomical diagrams create a sophisticated, museum-like installation with tremendous visual impact.
Created by American astronomer and educator Asa Smith (1804–1872), the plates explore the Moon, planets, eclipses, planetary motion, celestial mechanics, and the structure of the heavens. Created as educational illustrations, their striking graphic quality feels remarkably modern today.
Displayed together, the collection transforms an entire wall. A rare opportunity to acquire the complete series professionally framed and ready to install. Newly custom-framed, conservation style with gray fabric mat, black wood frame and UV-resistant glass.
