Standing at just 2.75 inches tall, this naive folk-art style piece features a creamy-white glazed ground beautifully hand-painted with whimsical ochre-orange and black calico patches. The cat perches gracefully atop a simple, vibrant, green-rimmed integral base. True to its mid-to-late Victorian era craftsmanship, the underside features a distinct hollow-cast firing/vent hole used during kiln production, alongside an expected unglazed, completely unmarked flat bottom rim. Delightfully expressive and scaled perfectly for a curio cabinet, typesetting tray, or desk accessory, this miniature figure exudes incredible historic character.
