Modeled by noted Royal Doulton artist Stanley James Taylor and made and hand decorated in England.

This is the earlier embossed Variation One, featuring the classic London Metropolitan Police officer in his glossy black helmet with a raised, hand-painted police badge. The elaborate sculptural handle incorporates Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower and a whistle, creating one of Royal Doulton's most recognizable British character jug designs.

The underside bears the full Royal Doulton factory backstamp, “THE LONDON BOBBY,” model number D6744, Stanley James Taylor identification and ©1985 Royal Doulton (UK) marking.

Of particular interest to collectors, the underside also has a handwritten personalized inscription and signature appearing to read “To Marion, Michael Doulton, 20.1.1986.” Please review the detailed photographs of the inscription as they form part of the description.
