Designed in a Victorian Revival vocabulary, the lamp has the reflective brilliance, ornate cutting and compact proportions associated with period bedroom and dressing-table lighting.

The tall trumpet-form base rises from a broad flared foot and is extensively decorated with cross-hatched diamond and lattice cutting. The matching domed shade continues the geometric treatment and is finished along its lower edge with a more elaborate deeply cut scalloped and floral border. A faceted glass cap, brass-tone fittings and small finial complete the composition.

Weighing 5.10 lb, the lamp has considerable substance for its 15.75-inch height. The complete matching cut-glass shade gives the piece particularly strong decorative presence, while the original vintage wiring has been tested and is reported in working condition.
