An exceptionally rare and sculptural three-tier rolling bar or serving cart designed by Aldo Tura and produced in Italy during the 1950s–1960s. Identified by the Archivio Aldo Tura as Model 640.
The cart features three graduated oval glass tiers supported by a gracefully angled wood frame covered in richly patinated lacquered goatskin or parchment. Its distinctive design includes two large decorative spoked wheels with brass-toned metal fittings, black tire edges, a smaller front caster, an integrated oval push handle and beautifully detailed metal hubs and hardware.
The graduated arrangement of the three glass shelves gives the cart a dramatic architectural profile while providing generous space for bottles, glassware, serving pieces or decorative objects. The warm amber, ochre, olive and golden-brown coloration is characteristic of Aldo Tura’s hand-finished goatskin furniture. Variations in color, visible panel seams and naturally developed surface patina give the piece substantial depth and character.
The Archivio Aldo Tura in Italy reviewed photographs of this cart and confirmed in writing that it is authentic Aldo Tura production, designed by Aldo Tura, identified as Model 640 and produced during the 1950s–1960s. According to the archive, its construction, proportions, three-tier configuration, finishes and metal elements correspond with examples in the Aldo Tura archive.
The archive further noted that the cart retains many of its original components and natural patina. They advised against polishing, refinishing or invasive restoration. A formal physical Certificate of Authenticity containing archival images and documentation was offered by the archive for an additional fee of €350. A copy of the existing written archival correspondence will accompany the cart.
This cart has not been refinished or aggressively polished. Its original aged surface has been intentionally preserved.

The cart retains its original finish, components and naturally developed patina. There are scratches, scuffs, discoloration, finish wear, surface cracking and separation along some of the goatskin/parchment panel seams. Several small sections of the decorative surface covering or finely detailed trim have fallen away over time, exposing portions of the underlying wood. The handle displays visible age-related cracking and wear. The three glass shelves remain fully intact and seated in their frames. The glass has scratches and some light hairline cracking consistent with age and use; no shelf is completely broken or separated. The brass-toned wheels and hardware show oxidation, tarnishing, surface wear and patina. The tires also show age-related wear. The cart remains an impressive, highly decorative example with considerable original character. It has not been refinished, aggressively polished or invasively restored. Please examine all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description. less
