This ia fine antique, well preserved, for how old it is .As you can see in the pics, quite a … Read more This ia fine antique, well preserved, for how old it is .As you can see in the pics, quite a lot of craftsmanship went into the making of this. It has a single working drawer, with a french brass pull.Each tier has a fully formed picture made of several different wood veneers. The top has a beautiful, almost golden violin, lying among flowers and foliage. the next two tiers have a beautiful array of flowers and leaves. There is brass trim attached to all sides of each tier, plus an extra delicate backsplash if you will ,also made of brass on the top tier only.. Very delicate frame and legs, which are painted black, to match the center of each tier that frames the marquetry.This really is a very special piece. See less

- This piece happens to be in great condition considering the age. It came to me with one loose leg. I … moreThis piece happens to be in great condition considering the age. It came to me with one loose leg. I had it professionally tightened, with a single screw from the bottom, but it does not come up through the top of the bottom tier. I find that glue just simply is not enough to keep it from loosening up again.You can only see the repair if you turn the stand upside down.There is a pic of the repair, The marquetry is all in tact and really it is in amazing shape less
