This is a vintage silverplate posy vase by Hallmark Silver Co., featuring an unusually elaborate pierced floral gallery surrounding the flared rim. The openwork design has a romantic Victorian-inspired quality, with scrolling foliage and stylized flowers creating a delicate lace-like effect.
The pierced gallery would also lend itself beautifully to threading with a narrow silk or velvet ribbon for an especially decorative presentation—a lovely way to emphasize its Victorian aesthetic.
The petite vase has a classic tapered urn-form body raised on a circular pedestal foot. Recently gently polished, it displays a lovely bright silver finish while retaining the subtle character expected of vintage silverplate.
Marked on the underside HALLMARK with the company’s shield trademark and H3 model designation.
Perfect for a small bouquet of violets, roses or garden flowers, and equally pretty displayed empty on a vanity, bedside table, mantel or collected silver tray.
