An exquisite late 19th-century majolica / barbotine plate, beautifully molded with a high-relief artichoke and large thistle leaves.
This piece features a striking color palette of soft gray-blue, cream, white, and a vibrant yellow-and-brown artichoke, all set against a textured sunny yellow background.
The reverse features an impressed model number "83" pressed into the clay, characteristic of fine European earthenware productions.
Attributed to Marescaux & Hahn. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
