A fabulous and unusual vintage Fitz & Floyd ceramic planter from the company’s early Japanese production, circa 1970s. This wonderfully sculptural piece features a glossy white faux-bamboo cachepot with a beautifully modeled parrot perched along the rim, its dramatic four-inch tail extending gracefully down one side.
The monochromatic white glaze beautifully emphasizes the molded bamboo, feathering and sculptural details while giving the piece a sophisticated decorative presence. Whimsical yet elegant, it is particularly well suited to Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, Palm Beach and Grandmillennial interiors.
At 12 inches tall, this is a substantial statement piece—wonderful displayed with an orchid or topiary, or simply enjoyed as a sculptural decorative object.
Retains the impressed © FF maker’s mark as well as its original FF Japan paper label on the underside.
