Antique W.H. Grindley Flow Blue Argyle 17" Oval Serving Turkey Platter
Made in Staffordshire England c. 1895.
Approx. 1 1/2" High x 17 1/4" Long x 12" Wide.
Stunning, oversized antique W.H. Grindley Flow Blue serving platter in the highly collectible Argyle pattern.
Manufactured in Staffordshire, England, this late 19th-century masterpiece features a heavily blurred cobalt blue design with elegant floral and scroll motifs along a beautifully scalloped edge.
The rim features classic Victorian gold trim accents.
This is the largest standard size produced, traditionally utilized as a grand holiday turkey or roast platter.
Features the printed W.H. Grindley crown-and-globe back stamp. Stamped "Rd No 248137", establishing a British design registration year of 1895. Marked with "F B" (Flow Blue marker designation). Incised with the potter's mold tracking number "67" in the clay.
Excellent used antique condition. No chips, cracks, structural damage, or repairs. The cobalt blue pigment remains incredibly deep and vivid. Minimal, honest age-appropriate wear to the gold accents and typical surface crazing may be present under close light, entirely consistent with 130-year-old porcelain. Normal wear from use and age.
