A striking vintage cluster pendant featuring natural blue sapphires and diamonds in a dimensional floral arrangement. The pendant is made of 925 sterling silver with a gold overlay, while the 14K yellow gold curb-link chain adds a warm contrast and a substantial finish.
The pendant centers on a marquise-cut natural sapphire surrounded by twelve round-cut natural sapphires and eight single-cut natural diamonds, creating a layered floral cluster with a radiating, scalloped silhouette. The deep blue sapphires and gold-toned finish give the pendant a rich, romantic character, while the diamond accents add flashes of contrast throughout the cluster.
The symmetrical arrangement and elaborate gemstone composition draw on Victorian Revival jewelry, with the floral and sunburst-like form giving the piece a distinctly Romantic quality. The sapphire-and-diamond cluster motif is also reminiscent of the formal jewel-like compositions associated with historic jewelry houses such as Garrard.
The twelve round-cut natural sapphires measure approximately 2.7 mm each and total approximately 1.08 carats, with blue hue, very dark tone, and moderately strong saturation. The pendant is suspended from a 14K yellow gold curb-link chain measuring 15.5 inches in length. Pendant and chain together weigh approximately 5.58 grams.
