This listing is for a nice antique English mantel/shelf clock.
This clock has a wooden case and metal dial. The casing has nice inlaid detailing and a placard that reads “Present to Mr. & Mrs. Nelson by the Bankfoot Laboratory Staff on the occasion of their marriage July 27 1921.”
The placard appears to be silver- possibly sterling, but has not been tested for metal composition.
This clock has an 8 day time & strike movement by Badische Uhrenfabrik.
Though the movement is of German origin, this clock was made for the English market.
This clock had been in storage for quite some time. It is a nice fixer upper. Pendulum, chime gong, and hammer are missing. The springs are good, but the movement has not been properly tested
This clock is quite attractive. Some signs of normal wear and age present.
The clock measures about 7.65 x 4.5 x 10.9 inches
