This clock was originally purchased by my brother in June 2003 for $1,266 because he loved all things mechanical and … Read more This clock was originally purchased by my brother in June 2003 for $1,266 because he loved all things mechanical and researched grandfather clock workings, teaching himself how to care for and wind it. Sadly, he passed away in May 2024, and I let it run down and haven't touched it since because I'm not very mechanical and was afraid of overwinding it. However, just sitting in the living room looking beautiful is only half a life for a grandfather clock, and I would like it to go to a good home where it will be loved, used and appreciated. This is a 77th Anniversary Edition of the Benjamin grandfather clock with a Windsor cherry finish, astrological blue moon phase dial, illuminated case, locking door, and a Kieninger cable-driven movement which plays a Westminster melody. It is model number 610-983 and has been sitting unused, but is in working order. I understand most clock movement manufacturers recommend having a clock tuned or adjusted every two years or so, and recommend having this clock set up, tuned and adjusted by a professional after being moved. The clock has resided in a quiet and well-kept home and has not suffered any damage, but please expect normal age appropriate wear. See less
