Striking vintage Spanish Chinoiserie armchair in the style of James Mont, featuring a sculptural horseshoe back, sweeping arms, and a dramatic high-gloss black lacquer finish.
Brass accents punctuate the curved back, corners, and feet, adding warmth to the architectural silhouette. The pierced central back splat and scroll-form arm terminals give the chair a distinctly Asian Modern character, while the low, generous proportions make it equally suited as an occasional, lounge, or statement chair.
The removable seat cushion is upholstered in a neutral cream textile. Made in Spain, the chair beautifully blends Chinoiserie influence with the glamorous lacquer-and-brass aesthetic associated with 1970s and 1980s interiors.

The black lacquer shows scattered surface wear, light scratches and minor imperfections consistent with age and use. Brass elements retain some natural patina and oxidation. The neutral upholstered cushion shows light wear. Please refer to photographs for additional condition details. Our inventory predominantly features rare and distinctive vintage furniture, with each piece carrying its own character, patina, and imperfections that reflect its age and history. These signs of previous use are part of what make vintage furniture unique. Photos are provided as a visual guide and are intended to show the overall condition and character of each piece as accurately as possible. While we carefully curate our inventory and strive to offer high-quality vintage furnishings, please keep in mind that these pieces have lived a previous life and may show age-appropriate wear. Owning vintage furniture is about appreciating the craftsmanship, history, and individuality that simply cannot be replicated in something new. A single image has been digitally staged to showcase potential placement and styling.
