This unusual piece features a textured faux bark / coconut shell-style exterior finish in a rich dark brown tone, accented with a cast brass standing elephant finial on the lid and matching brass elephant-form feet.
The interior is finished in warm-toned wood and includes brass hinges and a lid support. The original MAITLAND-SMITH – HAND MADE IN PHILIPPINES plaque remains attached to the underside, with an additional Maitland-Smith label inside.
