Striking vintage Italian Capodimonte porcelain floral basket featuring an elaborate sculptural arrangement of hand-modeled flowers and foliage, set into a dimensional woven basket-form base.
The piece features a distinctive tall twisted rope-form handle rising through the floral arrangement, with large blush-pink and yellow blossoms, a purple flower bud, richly modeled green leaves, and additional small floral details. The flowers and foliage are highly dimensional, giving the piece a wonderfully sculptural, almost garden-in-full-bloom appearance.
The underside is marked with the crowned “N” Capodimonte mark along with CAPODIMONTE and MADE IN ITALY. Additional worn production markings/numbers are also present on the underside.
A beautiful example of vintage Italian decorative porcelain with strong Rococo-inspired detailing and an especially unusual basket-and-twisted-handle form.
