Set of four vintage English Copeland Spode “Tower” red transferware plates, circa 1920s–1930s, featuring the celebrated scenic Tower pattern in rich red on a creamy white ground. Each plate centers a detailed pastoral landscape with an arched bridge, tower, water and trees, surrounded by an elaborate floral border.
Especially attractive are the molded scalloped white rims, which frame the transfer decoration and give the plates a more dimensional appearance than the traditional plain-rim form. Measuring 9.5" in diameter, the set works beautifully for dining, display in a china cabinet, or grouped as an English transferware plate wall.
Marked on reverse “Copeland / Spode’s Tower / England.”
