Sculptural vintage Portuguese ceramic centerpiece featuring a kneeling male figure supporting an oversized shell-form bowl. Finished in a luminous creamy white glaze, the piece has a wonderfully dramatic silhouette with classical figural detailing, an ornate pedestal base, and a deeply modeled scalloped shell bowl.
A striking decorative object that works beautifully as a centerpiece, fruit bowl, console accent, or standalone sculpture. Its monochromatic glaze and whimsical classical form lend themselves especially well to Hollywood Regency, Mediterranean, Neoclassical, coastal, and collected interiors.
The underside is hand-inscribed “Portugal,” along with what appears to be a vintage inventory or stock notation. No maker’s mark is visible, so the piece is being offered as an unidentified Portuguese ceramic.
