The cases are fitted with two paneled drawers dressed in cast brass rococo pulls, and rise on scrolled cabriole legs joined by a shaped apron centered with a carved shell-and-scroll motif. Both retain their Baker Furniture brass plates along with the original Dinwoodey's of Salt Lake City retailer labels — Dinwoodey's was Utah's landmark furniture house for well over a century.

Baker Furniture was founded in Allegan, Michigan in 1890 by Dutch immigrant cabinetmaker Siebe Baker, and rose to prominence under his son Hollis Baker, who traveled Europe studying and collecting period antiques as source material. That research became the foundation of Baker's reputation for museum-caliber reproductions of English and Continental furniture — construction and carving quality that consistently outran the rest of the American market. The bombé form itself is pure Louis XV: bombé means "blown out" in French, describing the swollen, curvaceous case that eighteenth-century Parisian ébénistes developed at the height of the Rococo.
