Each plaque … Read more A striking pair of vintage Hollywood Regency wall plaques featuring sculptural gilt-metal cherubs against glossy black circular backplates. Each plaque is embellished with an asymmetrical arrangement of scrolling acanthus leaves, flowers and Rococo-style ornamentation. The opposing compositions create a beautifully balanced display when hung together.

Dating to approximately the mid-20th century, these decorative plaques combine European Baroque inspiration with the glamorous contrast associated with Hollywood Regency interiors. Wonderful displayed above a console, flanking a mirror or incorporated into a collected gallery wall.

Unmarked; likely Italian or European manufacture. Constructed with cast gilt metal mounted to black-painted molded backplates with original metal hanging braces.

Each measures approximately 11 inches in diameter. Vintage condition with scattered surface wear, minor finish loss and age-related marks, most notably on the reverse. Please review photographs. See less
